- Monthly by Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your bills. You can spread your costs evenly and hassle free over 12 months. We’ll review your payments at least once a year to make sure you’re paying the right amount to cover your bills. We base this on the energy you’ve used previously and the latest meter readings, which may be estimated.
If they need to change, we’ll let you know on your bill or by letter.

- Pay As You Go Meter
If you have a Pay As You Go meter, you pay in advance with a top-up key or card.
You can buy credit for a Pay As You Go meter from your local Post Office or Paypoint. You can only use what you’ve paid for in advance.
- Standing Order
To set up a Standing Order, please contact us. We can recommend a monthly amount and send you a standing order form to fill in and take to your bank. We’ll review your account at least once a year to check you’re paying the right amount.
- Monthly Swipe Card
You can pay with your swipe card at any PayPoint or Post Office, paying an agreed amount by a monthly payment date. Please contact us to set this up.
- Internet and Telephone Banking
You can make payments for your energy bills online or over the telephone from most banks. You will need to register with your bank for these services. Once registered you need your gas or electricity account number and the bank details of SSE, our energy supply partner, which are as follows:

- Variable Direct Debit
This lets you pay your bills directly from your bank account every quarter rather than every month. The date the payment will be taken is shown on your statements. To set up a Variable Direct Debit you can use our supply partner’s online Direct Debit from (NOTE: a new window/tab will open on SSE’s website with the form) or contact us. You’ll need your bank account number and sort code.
- Pay by Text
Paying by text message is quick, easy and secure. We hold your debit card details on a secure system. We’ll send you a text message to let you know how much your bill is and ask you to text back ‘YES’ when you’re ready to pay. When you text back, we’ll process your payment using the debit card details we hold.

- Credit or Debit Card
You can pay by credit or debit card by calling 0800 980 9649. If you pay by credit card you’ll be charged a handling fee of 1.5% for each transaction you make.
- By Post
Fill in the payment slip at the bottom of your bill and send it with your cheque or postal order to SSE, our partners at: SSE, PO Box 13, Havant, PO9 5JB. Please make the cheque payable to ‘SSE’ and write your customer account number on the back. Please don’t send cash.
- PayGo Swipe Card
This is a flexible payment option that you can use to pay your bill at any PayPoint or Post Office. All payments are shown on your quarterly bill and any remaining balance needs to be paid in full when you get your next bill. Please contact us to set up a PayGo swipe card.
